The Enterprise Lions Club wishes to thank all of those who contributed on June 12th to assure the success of our drive through fund raiser for the Giant American Flag, on I-5 in Redding. A tri-tip lunch was served by the Redding Fire Department which contributed to the tremendous community turn-out for the event. Over $6,000 dollars was deposed to the Keep Our Flag Fund Endowment Fund with the Shasta Regional Community Foundation as a result of the event.
Giant Flag Drive-Thru Fundraiser and Lunch
The Enterprise Lions Club, caretakers of the Giant American Flag on North Bechelli Lane, in Redding, CA are having a drive-thru fundraiser. It will be held on Friday, June 12, 2009 from 6AM to 6PM. Any amount of donation will help "Keep Our Flag Flying." All donations are 100% tax deductible.
Redding Firefighters are cooking a takeout/drive-thru Tri-tip lunch from 11AM to 2PM. Cost is $6 and $1 for a soft drink or water. The lunch includes tri-tip, beans, col slaw and bread. Firefighters have been very helpful to the Lions Club by assisting with the Giant Flag.
All funds are deposited into the Shasta Regional Community Foundation-Flag Fund. Cash, checks or credit cards are accepted. An endowment fund has been established by the Lions and when funded will cover the costs of the flag in the future. About $6,000 is spent each year to maintain the flag pole site and purchase flags. Thanks to the citizens of Shasta County and surrounding area, the fund is over half way to its goal of $150,000.
